The occurrence of kidney failure is caused by a number of serious diseases which gradually resulted on the kidney damage.

There are some diseases that often affect on kidney damage such as: High blood pressure (Hypertension), Diabetes Mellitus, urinary tract obstruction (stones, tumors, stricture), autoimmune disorders, such as systemic erythematosus lupus, cancer, kidney disorders, where there cysts growth on the kidney (polycystic kidney disease). The damage of filter cells in the kidney caused by either inflammation by infection or due to the impact of high blood pressure. The medical terms is called glomerulonephritis.

As for other diseases which can also cause kidney failure if it is not quickly overcome are: sudden excessive liquid decrease (diarrhea, bleeding, burns), as well as other diseases such as pulmonary disease (TB), syphilis, malaria, hepatitis, Preeclampsia, Drugs and Amyloidosis.
